With vehicular pollution increasing day by day across the globe, many countries are now looking for eco-friendly options such as electric vehicles. Elon Musk’s Tesla has been a pioneer in the manufacture of electric cars but costs a bomb. Meet Citreon’s Ami Electric Car that is available for $6590 (€6000). It is technically classified as a light quadricycle and does not require any license to drive (license-free). The super cheap car can be driven by 14 years old’s in France and 16-year-olds in the rest of Europe. Besides, the company also rents out the car like other electric scooters, and one can rent it at €19.99 ($22) after making an initial payment of €2,644 (around $2,919).
Citreon has kept construction and design by merely featuring only a few unique components. Most of the components of the Ami Electric car are symmetrical. For instance, the doors, bumpers, and under-body panels are more or less similar, accounting for affordability. The interiors are also quite simple and devoid of any infotainment. The interiors feature a mobile holder for using the phone for navigation purposes. One needs to rely on their smartphones or Bluetooth speakers for music.
The Ami electric car packs 5.5kwh battery, and it runs for 70km on a single charge. The battery can be charged from any standard 220v European standard wall socket in three hours. The electric pod runs at a maximum speed of 45km/hr which should be enough for city commuters. Then there is a companion app that features the details such as charge status, mileage details, and maintenance alerts.

The car would be available for rent and would cost €19 ($22) a month after making an initial payment of €2,644 (around $2,919). Those who wanted to rent it via minute to minute basis can do so through partners like Free2move. Citreon would be available for €0.26 a minute on paying a monthly subscription of €9.90.
