Google removes View image button and Search by image feature from Google Image search

Good news for photographers and publishers! Google today announced the removal of View image button and also search by Image feature.  The photographers and publishers have long been complaining about view image feature that allows users to steal their photos. By clicking on view image feature, the users can easily download the pictures and use it for their websites. But with the exclusion of this feature would make it difficult for the users to do so.

What advantages does it offer to the publishers?

This makes the user reach the source website where the image is found. This in a way boosts traffic to the website that contains the image. Not only that the publishers can display ads and get additional revenue,

and the users can also view the additional copyright information. But on the other side of the coin, this is a cucumbersome task for users who are accustomed to the regular download of the image via View image button. Now the users have to dive browse through the website wait for it to download and further scroll down to find the image.

What can users do now?

The users now need to right click on the image and then select the open image in new tab and then a full-size picture gets displayed. But most of the users might not be aware of the option. Instead, the majority of the users will click visit website button, which makes it now the most visible button in the absence of view image button.

Further, Google has also removed search by image feature that appears when you open a photo. However, you can reverse image search by simply dragging the image to the search bar and Google will display the relevant results.
