Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Receives TENAA Certification; Sports Vertical Dual Rear Cameras and Fingerprint Sensor

The niche of the rugged game-centric smartphones seems to have picked up the pace in recent times. Ever since the launch of the rugged Razor phone, ASUS and Xiaomi have come up with their own models; ASUS ROG Phone and Xiaomi Black Shark. Now, it seems Xiaomi has its work cut out on the second gaming phone most probably Black Shark 2. Although the complete details are yet to emerge, some specifications of the device have been revealed thanks to Xiaomi Black Shark 2 TENAA certification.

The new device carries a model number “AMW-A0”. From the images in TENAA, only a few specifications like dimensions, battery capacity, and screen size are available. Going by the images, it appears the new device would be the upgrade of its predecessor Xiaomi

Black Shark1 that was unveiled earlier this year. The smartphone comes with a similar design to its predecessor with the patterned black.

If you take a look at the dimensions, the new device measures 160 x 75.26 x 8.7 mm. The screen size (5.99-inches) and the battery capacity (4000mAh) are exactly in line with its predecessor. The phone further supports dual SIM cards with dual standby and is expected to be powered by Android Pie.

What’s interesting to see is the presence of the fingerprint sensor on the back which is touted to support Ali Pay and We Chat Payments. Furthermore, just above it, you can find vertically aligned dual rear cameras coupled with a LED flash. Coming to the front portion of the phone, the display comes with slim bezels with the selfie camera placed at the top.  On the right side, there are the volume rockers and the power button and a one-touch dedicated shark key (for enhanced gaming experience)  present on the left side. Also, Black Shark AWM-A0 supports TD/LTE, FDD-LTE, TS-SCDMA, WCDMA, CDMA 2000, CDMA 1X and GSM standards.
